Who We Are
Mission:
S.T.A.G.E., a collaborative youth ministry rooted in Christ, guides youth toward claiming their faith in God.

Vision:
We strive to deepen our connection with Christ and his teachings by fostering an open and safe space at our meetings; volunteering in the community; and engaging in mission work. Our meetings are a place where youth can express their thoughts, questions, and struggles in their faith and, through discussions, nurture their growth in Christ. This fosters authentic community and connection among our youth. Our volunteering and mission work is where our youth are actively engaged in social justice initiatives, advocating for causes they care deeply about and driving change in our communities. These activities in the community create a bridge between claiming their faith in our meetings and living it out in their daily lives.
S.T.A.G.E. began in 1998 with the support of Lutheran, Presbyterian, and Methodist churches in the Berkley/Royal Oak communities. Today STAGE is sponsored by Greenfield Presbyterian, Drayton Avenue Presbyterian, Cana Lutheran, First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, and First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
A typical S.T.A.G.E. gathering includes snacks, time catching up with each other, discussion and conversation about the Christian faith and how we can grow relationally, communally, and spiritually, and of course games!
Our S.T.A.G.E. Youth Council (SYC) supports and plays a large role in the continuation of S.T.A.G.E.
It is comprised of members from each congregation and meets on a monthly basis to help communicate with home churches, plan events, and support the youth director.
