Role Overview
STAGE Youth Ministry is seeking two caring, committed Mentor/Chaperones to accompany our high school youth on a mission trip from June 21–27, 2026. The location is to be announced, but we will be serving a community in Central Appalachia. This is more than a supervision role—it’s a meaningful opportunity to walk alongside youth as they grow in faith and serve others. As a Mentor/Chaperone, you will model compassionate leadership, personal integrity, and a spirit of service, while providing encouragement and support throughout a transformative week of ministry and community engagement. Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent supervision, guidance, and encouragement to youth throughout the trip

Model Christian values and servant leadership in all interactions

Prioritize and ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all participants at all times

Drive youth in approved vehicles, such as large conversion vans. Willingness/ability to rent a vehicle if necessary (reimbursement for cost will occur)

Fully participate in all mission work, group activities, daily devotions, and worship

Foster positive relationships among youth and with members of the communities served

Collaborate closely with trip leaders, other chaperones, and volunteers to create a cohesive and supportive environment

Attend all required pre-trip meetings, planning sessions, and orientation sessions

Help plan and participate in non-structured/recreational/free day activities during the trip
Qualifications:
-
Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license (required)

Experience working with middle and/or high school youth (preferred, but not required)

Prior mission trip experience (preferred, but not required)
-
Strong ability to lead by example and build authentic relationships with teenagers

Flexible, dependable, and capable of managing the demands of travel and communal living

Must successfully complete a background check and child protection clearance (required
